Gift for my sister in the making

My sister is turning 25 this weekend and I want to give her something special on the day. I decided to do a drawing for her of her cute little daughter, Mandy. She's very photogenic and even better; she loves posing for the camera! I did a lot of photos last summer and am using one of the shots for the drawing. I like the expression on her face, it has something about it, something soulful and deep - and of course sweet :) I am still at an early stage but that should change tomorrow. It's been a while since I did a normal pencil drawing portrait, it's always a bit difficult and challenging for me, even though it was what I started out doing when I found my passion for drawing. I usually work better in charcoal cause it push me to draw darker and not so light as I tend to do with a medium like grahite pencils. Anyway, I am hoping to post the finished version friday at its latest and I hope it ends up with the right feel :)

Oh my! So far it looks perfect! What a great gift.

P.S.: I always thought you were an only child. :)

Thank you for the compliments both, I just scanned a newer version of it, going to take a long time, hope I make it in time :)

Nihrida, actually I have 2 brothers and 1 sister :)

I win: 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Are your siblings as talented as you are?

None of them are creative in the way I am, so it's hard to say :) We are all very different.
Ah, you definitely beat me!:) Are you the olders too?

I'm the youngest. =) How is your drawing of this lovely little girl going?

Ah okey, I had a feeling you were my age but maybe I was wrong.
She's done, I just didn't post it yet but I will after the weekend when she receives it. I am very exited to see how she reacts. She's wished for a drawing of her for so long but I was waiting for her and her boyfriend to decide on a photo.. so I made the decision for them now :)
