Wishing you a beautiful Christmas

I want to wish you all a beautiful Christmas, if you celebrate it. If you don't - enjoy the holidays :)

I am just now getting exited about Christmas - I love giving gifts, especially if they are something I made as I love to see the reactions of people, it's all worth it <3

Have a great time everyone.

Midnight Rose in the making

I thought I would post my latest drawing in a few steps. I always forget to scan it at the earlier stages.

Avatar in 3D - Amazing

I just came home after watching Avatar in 3D. It was absolutely amazing. I had never seen anything in 3D before and it was really impressive and so cool how things seemed to be right infront of you. Especially the scenes in the beautiful wood were impressive. The 2.40 minuts felt like 1 hour, that's how great it was.
My love got special tickets 2 days before the normal premiere and it was awesome how exited people were.
If you get the chance to see it in 3D you really should, was such a great experience for me :)

On a different note it's been snowing like crazy here and I am so exited about it. Have quite a few photo shoots lined up for when there would be snow and now it's finally here - yay. I have to take a lot of winter photos as I have been looking forward to it for months now. I already did so many winter drawings this year but there is room for more.

I will go to sleep with the sound of rain and snow, just needed to share my wonderful evening with you!

November over so soon

I am amazed how fast November went by. It was a great month for me artistically but not so much health wise. Started out being sick almost 14 days, missed one of my best friend’s 30th birthday which I was a little sad about.
I have noticed the past 3 years how inspired I have been each November. It’s kind of weird for it to be this particularly month but I always seem to be inspired to draw a lot and usually darker more gothic themed drawings. I think I am more affected by the weather and seasons than I thought I was. November being rather dark and grey in Denmark.
Today it’s the 9th of December and I wonder where the time went?
Sometimes I wish I could stop time and live some of the same moments over and over again. I really had some beautiful moments in November that I want to keep living <3

Lately I have been back to pastels, which I haven’t done that much in a while. It’s one of my favourite mediums but also one of the things I am the least confident with. I do however love it for so many reasons. My latest piece is Dark Moon, a darker drawing, I started in November already but because of health problems I had to do it in small steps. I am finally near the end and feel happy with it.

Wii I love it

A few weekends back I got two awesome things in the mail - EA Active and Sports Resort. I love both games. Sports resort is so much fun, my boyfriend and I used pretty much all saturday the 14th on playing it. Swordplay and Basketball are definitely my favourite games and really gets you going.

I have wanted these games for so long, so it was pretty amazing to finally have them. EA active still gives me sore legs and back when playing, I guess it shows how little you use the muscles normally or maybe I am just in a bad shape?

The making of Summer Feelings

I did this drawing tonight, as I felt like doing a couple drawing and the one I have in progress already is a little complicated. I am working on a rather detailed couple drawing in graphite pencil, which I have put a lot of hours into so far. Sometimes it's nice to just grap the charcoal and relax and draw without thinking too much about it. It's probably the medium I feel the most comfortable with by now.

There isn't too many steps on this "making of" as I forgot to scan it in the end. Hope you like to watch it still :)
You can find more info about the drawing on my website, as usual.

Have a nice evening everyone ♥

Shopping New Artstuff

This weekend was great, I spend it shopping with my love and bought some new drawing materials. I have to say, for me shopping art supplies is so much better than clothing ;)

I was able to get an old pastel skin tone which hadn’t been available in a long time, I was pretty thrilled about this, as a lot of skin tones look too pink even when used with other colours.

I also got a lot of new colours in my favourite colour pencil brand: Supracolor. I got a lot of purple and violet tones as well as some new green tones. I think I have a very large range of olive green colours by now, it’s a great colour for eyes and trees and I loved it when I found a dark olive a while back. Now I have; Olive, Olive Brown, Olive Black and a Khaki Green. A few years back I definitely had more pink, blue and grey colours.

Oh and at last I fell for this mechanical pencil (at first because it had baby blue at the end :)) but then I realised it was very soft and I might be able to work with it. I never drew with a mechanical pencil before but after trying it out this weekend (a quick buttefly) I definitely see it has its advantages. I look forward using it much more.

The making of Jorge Garcia as Hurley

Today I did a drawing of my favourite character of Lost; Hurley. I've been fond of him from the very beginning, his story is both sad and touching and I always enjoy the Hurley episodes the most. I wanted to do an emotional drawing of him showing some of the things I feel portrays the character Hurley. I based my drawing on a screen capture of Lost.

The drawing is made with soft charcoal on Winsor&Newton smooth drawing paper. 11x8 inches. I used around 6 hours straight on the drawing. Now I really need to sleep :)

... And I have a blog

So, I guess I have a blog now. Let's see how often I remember to use it :)

It's raining here today as well, it's nice when you sit inside and listen to it against the window... nothing like rain. Seems like the winter is closer now and the beautiful autumn colours are slowly fading. I hope it will be a nice winter this year.
I'm posting one of my latest charcoal drawings;
New Wonders to test how things work :)
