My Little Pony

During the weekend I drew a couple of My Little Pony's for my niece. She's got a few of them and I thought it would be fun to just do a few sketches of them. I am thinking to colour the couple pony's and give it to her. I don't know, not my usual drawing style but it was kind of fun :)
I remember I had this light pastel green pony with fairy wings and stars when I was younger. My Little Pony are super cute.

Past days and Spring Kitten

I was lucky to get a great shot of the little grey cat of my mom's while he was looking up. It was the perfect reference for me as I now have it for the seasonal kittens I've just started. I am already doing the Flower Girl series and Dream (ring) Fairies so why not some kittens too?:) It's been a while since I did a cat and it is good to be back drawing animals. Made it with Caran D'Ache graphite pencils and a colour pencil, 8x11".

I can't believe all the sun we've had lately, it's incredible and really do wonders to the soul. I just spend some days with my family and it was very nice and kicked my inspiration even more. Got to do some different things; such as sitting behind my sister on a scooter driving in mud and snow. It was some experience. I normally don't like this as I am afraid of falling off and hurt myself pretty bad. It went fine though, still alive ;)

I am working quite a few commissions these days, pretty interesting ones too.

Anyway, have a great weekend with hopefully lots of sun :)

Gift for my sister - Little Mandy

This is the finished drawing of Mandy, my niece. My sister got it last weekend and I could tell she was happy to receive it, which made it all worth it. I put a lot of time into it, it's always much harder for me to complete drawings of close family, maybe because it's a bit more personal. She's done with graphite pencils on Winsor&Newton drawing paper. I chose this particular pose as I wanted something else than cute smiley, not sure why. This girl got so much personality and I wanted it to show somehow.

Jensen Ackles - Dark to Light

I don’t know what has gotten into me lately but I am drawing so much and really feeling it! Aside from commission I am doing many of my own drawings and completing elder ones. Maybe it’s the sun, maybe it’s my current weird state of mind. Whatever it is it’s nice and I am taking fully advantage of it.

This drawing I did today. I felt it was too long since I did my last Jensen drawing and I found this very contrasted photo of him to work from. He got such distinct features, really like his lips, they are so luscious :D
I am quite the Supernatural fan and I really like the development of his character.

Charcoal on sketch paper.

25£ of fun!

Sonic Sega All-stars Racing

I do not understand why I have to pay about 60£ (90$)for this game here in Denmark and in UK I can get it for 25£ with shipping! Oooooh I love Ebay!=) It makes no sense we have such high prices here, it's ridiculous. I always buy my Wii and PS3 games from UK now as I can sometimes get the games down to 12£, it's crazy. And this is brand new sealed games.

If you haven't tried this game yet I highly recommend you do. It's so much fun and I really like the fact that you have to play to earn money to buy new courses and players with new cars. I used to play the good old Crash Team Racing for PS1 and something like this would have been a fun part :) We have already bought most of the courses by now - it really is an addictive game. I love these kind of games, I get so caught up in them and at the same time completely relax, they are a nice change from the daily life.
You tube video of my favourite course; link Ocean Ruin. I love Amy and Ulala so far. Try it!:)

Angelfish + New Pastels

So, this was a little test I did last weekend. I am going to do my first mermaid drawing and I wanted to at least have tried drawing the water and fish to see how well I would do. Angelfish is one of my favorite fish, they have something elegant about them. It was fun to do this. This is a photo of the drawing and it doesn't show the sparkly parts very well but the scan was even worse.
In December I got a pretty girl from Denmark, Helene, do a couple of photos for me for the mermaid girl. I am really exited to get started.
However, right now I am working on 3 commissions, 1 is a large project, a really cool one which I can't reveal much of as I am not allowed. Anyway, I think I will post wip's of the mermaid drawing since it will be an interested process for me.

We went out and bought some new pastels last weekend too, some especially for this mermaid drawing so it better be good! At the same time we found this complete set of Cretacolor pastels for only 50 $, it's crazy cheap considering I pay about 5.2$ for 1 of my single Faber Castell pastels. I look forward using the Cretacolor pastels for the first time. So far I have only used them in pencil form and they are pretty good to work with.

Losing my halo

I'm losing my halo, I'm a fading version of myself
40x59cm (about 16.5x24 inches) and done with charcoal. I've been working on it a little over a week on and off. I used myself for this drawing and it's rather personal.

New Postcards + New Chocolate!

I thought I would share with you a few new postcards I got in the mail today with my drawings. I love postcards, I also sell them on my web shop. The quality is just so shiny and great. I do not only buy them for selling matters as I like to have them myself, they add something exclusive to the drawings I think :)
If you'd like to see the ones I sell they are here:
ZindyZone

Look at the above photo... we just had a new line of chocolate here in Denmark, Toms - Guldbarre (gold). It's some of the best chocolate in Denmark and now they made this very girl appealing milk chocolate with sugar coated almonds. I can't wait to taste it in a minute ;)

I haven't drawn anything the past days, although I got lots to do with commissions and a few personal drawings waiting to be done. I guess I should go draw now?

Sunshine, drawing and shopping

Today has been a great day. It's been yet another day of sunshine and I am loving it. Above is the room I sit and do my computer stuff - look at all the light - been a while!:)
Yesterday I saw a girl walking around in short sleeves and couldn't help but think how she would be in bed next week with a bad cold. It's pretty optimistic to walk around like that already considering the wind is still very cold here, despite the sunshine.

Guess what I found today - more butterfly stuff for the kitchen and blueberries at half price! I love blueberry and banana smoothie; it is the best, especially in the morning.

Last but not least I found my 3rd flower girl and am about to finish her up. I started her June last year already and put her away - it's such a bad habit of mine :/ I am using the beautiful Joelle as model, she agreed to take a photo for me last year for my drawing, which I was very happy about. She's perfect for this lily flower girl.
Have a great weekend everyone!:)

Gift for my sister step 2

I worked about 4 hours late last night on the drawing and a lot today as well, going to take longer than I expected. I really like her mouth so far and the eyes are getting there :)

Gift for my sister in the making

My sister is turning 25 this weekend and I want to give her something special on the day. I decided to do a drawing for her of her cute little daughter, Mandy. She's very photogenic and even better; she loves posing for the camera! I did a lot of photos last summer and am using one of the shots for the drawing. I like the expression on her face, it has something about it, something soulful and deep - and of course sweet :) I am still at an early stage but that should change tomorrow. It's been a while since I did a normal pencil drawing portrait, it's always a bit difficult and challenging for me, even though it was what I started out doing when I found my passion for drawing. I usually work better in charcoal cause it push me to draw darker and not so light as I tend to do with a medium like grahite pencils. Anyway, I am hoping to post the finished version friday at its latest and I hope it ends up with the right feel :)

Sunshine + Flower Girl Summer

Flower Girl Summer
Today I finished my next girl in the Flower Girl series; summer. Something soft, light pink and blonde. She's made with soft pastels on my usual Winsor&Newton drawing paper.

I can't believe we've had sun for the past days here... today was really bright and lovely. At the same time huge snowflakes were falling down - very weird!
Anyway, brighter days will come now :)
