Something fun and cute

I thought I would show you something I bought some weeks back, really makes the dishes much more fun ;)

I also just planted these yesterday evening. I bought the kitty mugs a while back and just needed the plantlets of my spider plant to root so I could plant them. They are so adorable =) I have a lot of green plants, I like to be surrounded by them. Spider plants have been shown to reduce indoor air pollution, I just recently read that in an article and the cool thing is I have had one most of my life ;)

Fairylight

Fairylight
I can't believe I already finished the fairy drawing I started yesterday morning, haven't been this dedicated to a drawing in a while. I must say I used most of the day drawing so I guess it explains a bit :)
The drawing is done with graphite pencils and powdered graphite (which I plan to experiment more with the future) on Winsor&Newton smooth surface paper, 40x60cm(16x22").
All in all I loved drawing this, gave me a bit of motivation :)

New fairy pencil work in the making

I thought I would show you my latest work, I started it this morning. I felt like doing something else than I was already working on... and just some imaginary stuff to make it all free.
I have put my materials next to the drawing, which by the way is quite big; 40x60cm (16x22inches). This is the first time using powdered graphite on a drawing. I got it years back as a gift but never really put it to use. It's not sticking easily to the paper but it might be because it's rather smooth. We'll see how it turns out :)

Grey grey grey and The Broken Chain

My lastest drawing; The Broken Chain. Done with colour pencils and pastels. 12x16 inches (30x40cm)

Lately I've felt like time is going way too fast without me moving along. I seem to never get the things done I want and it's beginning to slow me down even more when I feel like I never can catch up. Feeling a bit de-motivated at the moment.
I miss the summer, I miss the light and I miss the beach and water, to just walk outside enjoying the sounds of birds and having that airy feeling spring and early summer brings. In Denmark is has seriously been grey for about 4 months now, with very few days of just a bit of sunlight. I think only people living here can truly relate, it's hard on your mood when you barely get no light - no artificial light can make up for the lack of sunlight. Good thing is we are close to April where spring slowly begins here and this year I can barely wait.

Send me some sun please?;)

Me 3 years after + auctions

I thought I would dare myself and post a very recent photo of myself. I haven't shown any new photos of myself for about 3 years I think. I am dark haired now and I really like it.
The photo is taken right before we took off to the Assemblage 23 concert last week, which was really awesome by the way, it was the first time every listening to their music and then seeing them live... I mostly liked the more quite ones but the energy was pretty amazing - if you ever come to Denmark you should try partying with Danes - they rock the house :D

Ebay Auctions
I have a few auctions ending very soon should you be interested, among them are my new key rings:

Train Doodles

My weekend train doodles. I was on my way visiting my family for the weekend and did these in the train. There's something about travelling, listening to music and just letting go. Not exactly sure where it come from but this is the type of work I used to do when I first started drawing again. I would draw these (mostly) faceless persons, a lot of the time being shadows.
They are done on regular printing paper with no eraser. It's somehow liberating when you have very few tools.

My weekend was nice, I spend it with most of the family, just relaxing. I can't believe how much snow there were, I felt so small when we went for a walk. I'll post a few photos one of these days. I hope you all had a great weekend.

Diary of dreams

I was looking for a specific photo when I found my photos from Diary of Dreams’ concert in Copenhagen 2008. It was pretty amazing. It’s a band which had a big impact on me. I heard them in 2006 for the very first time, when my life was pretty much a mess. It somehow helped me through and inspired me a lot. If you take the time and really listen to their lyrics it opens up a brand new world, and the more you listen to a song, the more you get out of it. It’s like you can keep finding more meanings in it. I am not sure what it is about their music but for me it brought out a completely different side, the darker side and it helped me express a lot of the things I struggled with during that time. I didn't really embrace my darker side till that year and somehow it was such a relief. Sometimes you need to be open and break free from your "normal" before you feel you are yourself somehow. Growing up listening to mainly boybands and general pop and R'n'B this was really something different and it opened up a brand new world.
I would pretty much listen to them each time I was running around the lake, where I used to live by. It is indeed amazing how someone's music can help you through. For me they will always stand as one of these things I look back at and remember exactly how things were, the feeling I had. The same period of time I listened a lot to Dioroma, Taking Back Sunday and Don’t die cindy, which to my sad surprise no longer exists. They were such a promising band but I guess they didn’t make it. If you are able to, listen to Unclothed and Honest; my all time favourite song.
Anyway, back to the photos, they are not the greatest quality, it’s always hard to take concert photos but just a few to give you an idea of the atmosphere.

Adrian and I, it was supposed to be my boyfriend by his side as he has been a fan for a very long time but he didn’t want to so I did :)

Here I was getting my boyfriend’s CD signed for him.

If you do not know this band try searching for them on Youtube, Flood of tears, Wild, Sin Skinner, Victimised, The Curse & Darker are some of my favourites but there are so many to choose from.

Sweet Valentine

Another pin-up girl I had planned for my Valentine drawing this year. I have a more traditional love drawing on the way too but thought I would share this already as I finished it before time. She was fun to do like my last pin-up doll girl, Oops. Same outfit but a different variation of it and a different type of girl. I really love drawing that little skirt. My real skirt is actually like this; black and white but with a plain white ribbon. I might show a photo of it sometime when I actually wear the outfit myself ;)

She's made with Caran D'Ache colour pencils and Faber Castell colour pencils.

The most beautiful cemetery - Vester Kirkegaard

I know it sounds kind of creepy, but I really like Vester Kirkegaard (West Cemetery).
It's really peaceful and beautiful, and not creepy like the ones I grew up nearby. They were small, old and scary and I would never ever go in there. I used to be terrified of cemeteries, maybe because of the IT and Poltergeists movies, which for me was the most frightening movies ever when I was little - and then of course the Pet Cemetery movies.
I don't live near the cemetery anymore so it's not very often I go there but not too long ago I went and took a lot of photos, mostly because I've been needing some background references with snow and trees - and there are lots at the cemetery at the moment :) I've posted a few photos so you can see what I mean.
These beautiful trees covered with ivies; I really love them, they are magical and I hope to be able to draw them well sometimes when I dare to.
