I wanted a little change in theme as I have been making a lot of Autumn inspired pieces lately.
The drawing is done with a mix of markers, colour pencils and soft pastels.

Breaking Lily

My latest drawing, Breaking Lily. It's a drawing from a month back that I lost inspiration for but when one of my great friends came back online I found my passion for it and finished it in one go. I am happy how it turned out, and loved creating the wall. I have do that again soon, that's for sure :)

All new Caran d'Ache Pastel Pencils

Last week I made a fantastic discovery - the local art shop Creas has new pastels available.
I'm a big fan of Caran d'Ache pencils, I find them amazing. I use both their Graftwood graphite pencils as well as Supracolor pencils. I am yet to find a product from them I don't like.

These new pastels are amazing. They are extremely creamy and nice to work with. The different colours blends in nicely and the colours actually stick to the paper when applying new layers. It's a problem I've often had before; layers disappearing a bit when adding more layers on top. These Caran d'Ache pastels aren't so bad at this, which makes them easier to work with.
Another big plus with these pastels are the fact they are lightfast and the tones you can get are amazing. I love the golden matte tones, especially the dusty lilac/purple, Aubergine, and the neutral peach/brown tones.
You can see the colour palette here:

All in all I am very happy with these pastels and highly recommend them.

This was my first drawings using the new pastels, using only those.

Vacation mode

I am still a bit absent at my blog, which you can tell if you are still visiting. My life been kind of up and down for a while and I find it hard to find the time and inspiration to really blog with thought.

Summer finally arrived here late July and with that came the headaches I summer from through out mid summer. It's been pretty bad this year for me and I've spend most days with a headache unfortunately. It is why I look forward to Autumn and already am in the Autumn mood.
A few drawings from past weeks:
This week I got some new pastel pencils and I can't wait to show you my review of them one of the upcoming days!:)

Look

After seeing a sweet post on my FB site from a girl, Kristina, I had a look at her lovely photos and she was perfect as model for a drawing.
Her eyes were very mesmerizing and I felt like doing a portrait based on her cute look.

My Summer so far + lots of new work

So far my Summer has been great. I was able to swim in the ocean for the first time last weekend and it was fantastic. I love the ocean and there is nothing quite like swimming in the open.
We've had lots of rain and wind here but I still am loving out summer, since I love rain.
I've had a few busy weeks drawing a lot. Had much to catch up on and tonight the last commission will be done for a while. Then it's Summer break and a little drawing break from me.

Here's past weeks drawings all in one:
Pink Angel Pinup
New very girly pinup angel to celebrate my 4th year as independent with my tubes - yay.
You can get her here with a special matching mini kit from CBJ: LINK

Flower Girl Plumeria:

I finally got back to my flower girl series, which I started 6 years ago. This year I found my dusty soft pastels and began using them again. It's been a couple of years without any usage of them and it does feel good to be back. I forgot why I fell in love with them so many years ago but it's slowly coming back to me.

I've been having lots of issues in the past with small hard pieces in my pastels which would always ruin part of the drawing. After getting back to my pastels I've been making my pastel pencils into powdered pastel which actually works really good, for the larger areas such as the skin needing to be even.

I highly recommend doing this.

The model is Emi, who took the pose/photo for me a couple of years ago.

I am very happy to have her be my first of the new round of Flower Girls - she's the 7th flower girl in the row.

Little Prayers
My cute little niece posed so sweet the last time I saw her. I really loved her emotions showing, she's really good at it. I originally wanted her to have small angel wings but somehow it didn't look right and maybe it speaks more without them.

Something free, something dreamy yet something a bit sad.

A drawing from earlier this year I just finished up and scanned. I have such a bad habit of leaving my drawings almost done and then I let them go.

Photos of my first days here

I've been here 2 days and already I feel so much more relaxed. It's so nice here.
Yesterday I spend the day in the garden with this little cutie:

I took this photo in the train on my way to my parent's, the sky was so beautiful.

Sheldon Cooper - Bazinga

I am very happy to show my latest portrait. For one it's a guy and indeed a really cool guy!:)
The fantastic Sheldon Cooper (Jim Parsons).
The Big Bang Theory is simply awesome, we are going a little crazy at the moment watching all the seasons.

I got really caught up in this portrait, which I haven't been since I drew Hurley from lost a couple of years ago.

Changes, guess an actor and give-away break

I recently made some changes in my life (see previous post). I've decided to start focussing more on what I truly love and have a passion for - which is my art, photography, my dear friends and most of all my family. Sometimes you can lose complete focus of what you really want and care about and as a result you don't do things whole hearted anymore and the passion slowly dies. This year I've worked hard on getting back to what I love the most and to become complete again. I think I am slowly getting there and I am feeling positive about the future.

I will also be doing a lot more blogging in the future, especially doing the summer which I have a feeling will be really good this year. I hope I am able to do more tutorials and little videos of me drawing as well.

I recently got an all new tripod - my very first - and I plan to start doing more photoshoots, with myself in front of the camera as well. I already have the clothing ready for the first shoot and can't wait to get started in a few weeks when I return back home.
Here's a little sneak peak on my corset.

As you know I started the monthly give away to a follower/commenter earlier this year. I have decided to take a little break from it over the summer. I am not excactly sure how my summer will turn out and I would like to start fresh when Autumn comes and I hopefully will be back into the blogger-rutine.
You are of course still more than welcome to comment as I always love to read your thoughts.

In the end I would like to show you my latest portrait in the making. It's been a lot of fun drawing him, can you recognize him?
