My Summer so far + lots of new work

So far my Summer has been great. I was able to swim in the ocean for the first time last weekend and it was fantastic. I love the ocean and there is nothing quite like swimming in the open.
We've had lots of rain and wind here but I still am loving out summer, since I love rain.
I've had a few busy weeks drawing a lot. Had much to catch up on and tonight the last commission will be done for a while. Then it's Summer break and a little drawing break from me.

Here's past weeks drawings all in one:
Pink Angel Pinup
New very girly pinup angel to celebrate my 4th year as independent with my tubes - yay.
You can get her here with a special matching mini kit from CBJ: LINK

Flower Girl Plumeria:

I finally got back to my flower girl series, which I started 6 years ago. This year I found my dusty soft pastels and began using them again. It's been a couple of years without any usage of them and it does feel good to be back. I forgot why I fell in love with them so many years ago but it's slowly coming back to me.

I've been having lots of issues in the past with small hard pieces in my pastels which would always ruin part of the drawing. After getting back to my pastels I've been making my pastel pencils into powdered pastel which actually works really good, for the larger areas such as the skin needing to be even.

I highly recommend doing this.

The model is Emi, who took the pose/photo for me a couple of years ago.

I am very happy to have her be my first of the new round of Flower Girls - she's the 7th flower girl in the row.

Little Prayers
My cute little niece posed so sweet the last time I saw her. I really loved her emotions showing, she's really good at it. I originally wanted her to have small angel wings but somehow it didn't look right and maybe it speaks more without them.

Soft charcoal.
40x30cm | 16.x11"

Doll at heart

Something free, something dreamy yet something a bit sad.

A drawing from earlier this year I just finished up and scanned. I have such a bad habit of leaving my drawings almost done and then I let them go.
I used the beautiful stock photo of Lor Myers: LINK

Created with colours pencils, markers and paint.
30x40cm | 12x16"
 The Sad Heart
The Sad Heart - a dedication to all the sad hearts out there.
Sooner or later there will be light and happiness again, you just have to believe and have faith.

Pastels, charcoal, markers.
