One

Sometimes when things are going down hill consistently and you can't seem to save or hold on to the things you love in life you have no other choice but to go back to where it all started.
Find yourself, the passion and start all over.

In many ways this is a symbolic and personal piece for me.

I've always had this love/fascination but at the same time fear of the ocean. It's so magnificent and holds so many secrets and undiscovered wonders.
I can watch nature programs endlessly, especially the coral reefs and the deep ocean fascinates me.

I kind of feel one with the ocean.

Charcoal, 30x42 cm.

Another book illustration in the making

I am currently completing another book illustration. It's been very interesting as I've never drawn a fox before, but always been a fan of their cute fluffy ears. I am anxious to see how this one turns out as there are still a way to go.
I originally started on a different piece of the same idea but it wasn't quite going as I wanted and decided to start over and get it just right.
It's done primarily in colour pencil (and a bit with markers). I am going to use pastels for the background and hoping it will go as planned.
I am working on a new type of paper for this one, Lana Calligraphy 250g/m2 paper, which seems to work alright for colour pencils.

Posters - Help me

I am finally going to order the large posters I mentioned last year. I am currently trying to decide which motives to have made.
I would really like to hear which drawings of mine you personally would like to have hanging in your home if you could choose between them all.
I have so many drawings it's hard to pick which to start out with. I do have an idea of which to choose but usually the drawings that personally means the most to me is not necessary the ones people like the most.
I'd be happy to hear your thoughts, maybe it will help me single out some before going ahead with this.

Raven Navajo Book Illustration

A while back I mentioned one of the projects I have been working on. This is one of 3 illustrations I did for the upcoming book Where Witches Rise by the author Cécile Guillot.
You can see more about the project here:
LINK

This is from a story about a Navajo girl, Raven.
I did a bit of research on Navajo and found that two of their significant colours is blue and white shell.
It went better with my style than orange/yellow so I went with that.

The other illustrations won't be released until the book is out.
The book should be released later this year, I will keep you updated and show you when I receive a copy.
I very much enjoyed the project, it was a bit different and it was nice to make up a character for a story, it's a unique opportunity.

Autumn Magic

My latest drawing, done over many weeks. Needless to say it took me a very long time to complete with all the little details.

The model is my friend Helena, from a photo shoot we did back in 2006.
We did the photo shoot in Autumn time and it holds a lot of memories for me.

Colour pencil, paint, markers.
